iMovie has strength editing function, but it also has some weakness. iMovie 09 only support limited formats such as MOV, DV, HDV, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, AVCHD, H.264. If you want to import your MOD files from your Canon, Panasonic, JVC, TOD files from JVC or other unsupported formats to iMovie, what will you do?

I can recommend a wonderful video converter-AVCWare Mac Video Converter for you.
AVCWare Mac Video Converter can convert almost all kinds of video formats AVI, MPEG, WMV, DivX, MP4, H.264/AVC, AVCHD, MKV, RM, MOV, XviD, 3GP, etc from one to another. So AVCWare Mac Video Converter can help you convert MOD, TOD, AVI etc. to iMovie supported formats for editing or you can directly edit it with AVCWare Mac Video Converter.
