Drawback of JVC GZ-MG130:

The only drawback of JVC GZ-MG130 camcorder I can find, and it's a big one, is the fact that it saves in .MOD files. Yep, .MOD, which is not a widely recognized format. Windows Movie maker in Vista will edit MPEG2 natively. However, you may need Premium or Ultimate to use it that way.

Basically, an MOD file is an MPEG2 file with different audio. So you can change it to an M2v extension, and some editing programs will work the files, MOD Converter will if you add a file to it and convert/transcode the MOD footage to AVI,WMV,MPG before using it in windows movie maker, sony vegas, adobe premiere.
