Setting Up iTunes

First Time


When you hook up your Apple TV for the first time, assuming you are on a wireless network, AppleTV will find all of the iTunes running on the network. You choose which iTunes setup will be the host server for AppleTV. Up to 5 iTunes can stream over to Apple TV but only a single iTunes will be able to sync to it.

Once you've chosen which iTunes for syncing, you will be prompted with a code from Apple TV, if you are not near your iTunes setup, write it down. Do to your iTunes setup, click on the Apple TV icon in the source list - this appears much like if you hooked up an iPod to your computer. Enter the code in the field provided.

Apple TV registers itself with this copy of iTunes and you are set to sync. Allowable content are movies, music, photos, podcasts, audiobooks and television shows. Note, games are not synced.
