Winner Announced!
The winner of The Great Apple TV Giveaway is editcandy, who enteredthis essayabout jealousy:
"...""I have this client. Rich. Nice. Great home. He's got all these great gadgets. Always something new. "Oh, I just got a new MacPro and a copy of FCS 2." Or "They just delivered my new Steadicam Jr.; let's go shoot something." It's not obnoxious because he actually uses the stuff - and arguably even needs it. And yeah, I'm jealous because I could arguably need it too but I get to play with great equipment without having to worry about money.
One day I come in and yes, there's a new pile of toys and in that pile is: "Wow, you decided to get an Apple TV." And though I'm eager to see it running we have work to do. And a week later: "Huh, you haven't set up the Apple TV yet." And a week after that: well, it would have been rude to comment on how it's still sitting unopened.
I don't imagine that I'll ever be wealthy enough to buy stuff and let it sit fallow. Heck, I'm not even wealthy enough to purchase an Apple TV. But I really want to sit down and play with one. I'm craving it. It would make me happy."
