how to reset remote control

does anyone know how to reset the remote control???? I came into my office to reload all the info in my apple tv, but left the remote back home. I tried to use the one I have for my descktop but it does not work. CAn anyone help me ????? thanks

Sory I don't but if you still ahve not found an answer, there is a good workaround if you have a iPhone. There is a new app that works really well for the Apple TV. Very responsive and it's always with you.
